Colour Families

A new favourite place and what is bound to be a frequent destination of mine for a little quiet time, is the Toronto Music Garden. It's so serene and peaceful that for a few moments you forget that you're in a metropolitan city and become completely absorbed in the flowers and foliage. As the sun was beginning to set and the temperatures were dropping I chose light layers of strong hues. I love experimenting with different colour families and tones. Here I mixed navy, burgundy, and a dijon mustard type colour, all of which exert a similar tone and vibrancy to them, making the pairing less contrasting.
