On Repeat

{Banana Republic Faux-Fur Vest (love this one also!), AE Chambray Shirt (similar here), Banana Republic Skirt, Urban Outfitters Shoes, Michael Kors Purse, Gosh "Lambada" Nail Polish}

This faux-fur vest was my fall/winter staple last year and go-to layering piece (evident herehere and here), and it's proving to hold its prominence this year as well! I'm also thinking it's about that time of year when I need to stock up on tights (my favourite are Joe Fresh), so not to fall into the jeans routine. Winter styling tends to be a balancing act - looking good and staying warm are not always on par. Sorels - I'm looking at you.

Mustard and Oxblood

{Urban Outfitters Dress, Joe Fresh Sweater, Forever 21 Hat (similar here), Michael Kors Watch, DSW Boots (similar here)}

This colour combination (one of my favourites!) felt appropriately fitting for the first week of fall.

Currently Craving: Pastel Fall Coat

I'm loving this coat for fall, particularly for it's soft pastel hue, a fresh and welcomed alternative to traditional seasonal colours.

A New Venture

Steve and I are starting a new adventure! We decided to pool our creative ideas, skills, and interests to start a film company, predominately for wedding cinematography! He loves filming and I love weddings, so it just seems to work. We've been lucky enough to have great friends and family support us through referrals so far, and we're excited to see where this takes us.

Please check out our new website, and if you could take a minute to Like our Facebook Page, we'd really really really appreciate it! We'll be updating both soon with some new videos!

DIY Flower Crown

I often catch myself browsing flower crowns on Etsy and wondering how difficult the task of making one would actually be. Turns out it's not all that complicated!

To start you'll need: a bunch of fake flowers with wire stems, a glue gun, and a side cutter (clearly this photo is not exactly accurate - Steve laughed at me when he saw me trying to cut through wire stems with Ikea scissors. Yarn is also not necessary.).

Start by molding one flower stem into a circle to fit your head. Make it a little bigger, as once you start adding flowers the size of it will shrink. Because the stem is made of wire it's really easy to shape.

Next, simply start attaching other flowers to the crown by wrapping the stems around the circle. You can also use your glue gun to add on single flowers and reinforce everything.
Ta da! You're all done.

Skort

{Forever 21 top, Zara Mini Skort, Michael Kors Purse, Ray-Ban Sunglasses}

This skort has been a sartorial staple in the blogging community - so much so, that there's an entire Pinterest board of it! I styled mine with this lace top before I saw the board, but I'm happy to know there's a plethora of inspiration for other outfit pairings!

Red Maxi

{Urban Outfitters Dress, Gap Vest, Ray-Ban Sunglasses, Banana Republic Sandals}

I was immediately drawn to this printed maxi dress, as it seemed like a great transitional look with it's jewel-toned pattern. I'm generally not a fan of strapless styles (hence the layered vest), but it's been a welcomed addition to my closet. I'm thinking a cropped denim vest would also be a fun layering piece.

4. We shot a wedding over the weekend with the cutest DIY touches, including his and her decorated longboards.
5. This beautiful mirror from Pier 1 was given to me as a gift and I've been spending the last couple of days deciding on the perfect spot for it (also looking back to this post for inspiration).

7. My go-to breakfast as of late - lots of fresh berries and Greek yogurt.
8. Co-workers and I at Early Bird- an awesome new coffee shop on Queen West! Syphon drip anyone?
9. We finally bought a desktop, which makes editing photos and videos so luxurious compared to the laptop.
