Pastel Fresh

{AE Chambray Shirt (similar here), Zara Jeans (trouser option), Gap Cable Knit, DSW Boots, Ray-Ban Aviators, Michael Kors Watch}

I am truly beginning to believe that a chambray shirt is the most versatile thing you can have in your closet. It really does work with everything - layered under sweaters/cardigans, worn with a printed skirt,   unbuttoned over a graphic tee, etc... In short, it has a way of toning down your dressiest pieces and adding visual interest to your more casual ones.

The warm weather over the weekend allowed for a relaxing afternoon outside with a good magazine.

Snapshots

1. Cute cupcakes I baked for a friends' Circus-themed birthday party.
2. Those that know me, know I love themed-anything. This fun, homemade photo booth was the perfect touch.
3. A weekend get-a-way to Niagara on the Lake called for a full day of winery tours and tastings.
4. Two couples admittedly insta-obsessed.
5. We celebrated our 1 year "engagaversary" last week. You can see more of this special day here.
6. Yummy cake for the aforementioned engagaversary.
7. A fresh salad to compensate for a weekend of wine, cheese, and indulgent breakfasts.
8. The collection of wine souvenirs we accumulated over the weekend (My fave: The Pillitteri Ice Wine)
9. I'm thinking about starting every day with a fruit smoothie. Anyone have any good recipes?

Feminine Sport

Top: Forever 21; Leather Jacket: Banana Republic; Vest: Banana Republic; Jeans: Forever 21; Wedge Sneakers: Topshop; Necklace: Stella & Dot; Bracelets: H&M, Stella & Dot, Madewell; Sunglasses: Tiffany & Co.; Seamless Hair Tie: Sephora

I was instantly intrigued by the contrasting fabrics of this top.  It has a soft, sweatshirt-like material body with delicate sheer, chiffon sleeves. I decided to pair it with wedge sneakers and a bright hair tie to play on the sporty feel of it, and add a bit of fur, oversized sunglasses, and thin bracelets to balance out the femininity.

I recently purchased this single seamless hair tie as a trial piece, and am now convinced that this multi-colour pack needs to be part of my hair accessory collection. I love the playfulness of them and best of all - they're great for temporary pony tails since they don't leave any kinks in your hair!

Happy Monday!

Back to Basics

Jeans: Gap; Tee: Gap; Leather Jacket: Banana Republic; Heels: Zara; Sunglasses: Ray-Ban; Necklace: Stella & Dot

This past Easter weekend while staying at my parents house, I decided to raid my mom's closet. I can always count on her to have a comfy pair of jeans and a bright t-shirt in every colour. Since I don't personally have a lot of pink in my wardrobe, I gravitated towards this fuchsia one as a welcomed change. A few minimal accessories (statement necklace, leather jacket, heels) made this casual Good Friday outfit appropriate for an early dinner out.
