Fresh White Shirts

Boyfriend Shirt: Banana Republic; Jeans: American Eagle; Jacket: Gap; Boots: Urban Outfitters; Purse: Michael Kors; Headband: Banana Republic (recent); Ring: Stella & Dot

Navy is perhaps one of my favourite colours. It always feel polished and makes for a good alternative to classic black. I've learned that a crisp white shirt can really make the details of a structured jacket pop and also down-play a pair of printed jeans for the work-week.

 Happy long weekend everyone!

Black, White, and a Touch of Bright

Sweater: Gap; Skirt: Joe Fresh (recent, not online); Heels: Banana Republic; Necklace: Zara

As much as I'm loving the all black and white trend right now, I couldn't help but add a bit of subtle colour to this outfit, in the form of a necklace, nail polish and lipstick.

On a somewhat related note - there happens to be a Joe Fresh (retailer of my skirt) around the corner from my work, and every day that I walk past it, the window displays catch my eye and lure me in. The collection is truly inspiring right now, with a combination of everyday wear and a few "Off the Runway" pieces. Currently loving these jacquard shorts. Just waiting on the double-digit temps!

Fancy Fabrics

While some days I prefer streamlined, monochromatic looks, other days I'm all for the most amount of texture. This new necklace has been on constant rotation lately as it adds so much visual interest and unexpectedly pairs nicely with nearly everything in my closet.

Top: Gap; Vest: Gap jean jacket turned DIY vest, Necklace: Zara

Finally!

It's officially here! And I think I may need to celebrate by purchasing a new pair of sandals! I've had my eye on these.
What will be your first "It's officially Spring so it's justified" purchase?

Currently Craving: Ankle Strap Heel

Generally, I love all ankle strap heels, but the added clear paneling on these make them my new favourite.

Life Lately

1. Tweed on Tweed - my decidedly favourite combination for early spring.
2. Essie nail lacquers currently on rotation.
3. A new print ordered off Etsy.
4. My go-to dinner of choice: chicken and veggie salad with a side of butternut squash soup, and Bear Flag "Soft White Blend" wine.
5. A sweet gift from my mom - two cute keychains from Chapters Indigo
6. Obsessed with this bright, printed Stella & Dot scarf.

Testing out Spring

Chambray: American Eagle, Jeans: Gap; Scarf: Stella & Dot; Boots: Zara; Bracelets: Banana Republic, Stella & Dot, Madewell and H&M, Earrings: Forever 21; Purse: Gap

I may be jumping the gun a little bit, but lately all I want to wear are lighter fabrics, softer shades, and fun bright prints (despite the fact that most days are still below freezing). This orange and fuschia, elephant printed scarf makes me happy every time I put it on though - it combines two vibrant colours and the most adorable pattern! I also love the unexpected combination of it when paired with light pastel colours.

In just a couple more weeks Spring will justify my style choices!

Tweed on Tweed

Jacket: Banana Republic; Top: Joe Fresh (recent); Skirt: Joe Fresh (recent, similar here); Heels: Banana Republic; Ring: Stella & Dot; Necklace: Forever 21; Watch: Michael Kors; Wallet: Banana Republic (last years, similar here); Nails: Essie "Lilacism".

Once you jump on the tweed trend, you just can't get enough. I'm a sucker for texture so I wanted to incorporate as much of it as possible into this look.

P.S. How much do you love Banana's Mad Men Collection right now!? It is a constant inspiration of mine lately.

Pretty Accessories

As some of you may know already, I recently joined Stella & Dot as an Independent Stylist (you can check out my personal website here and browse the online cataglogue). The jewelry is definitely what lured my into the oppotunity, which I generally describe as having a Banana Republic/J Crew-like quality, yet a unique and uncommon presence (i.e. not everybody's wearing it!). I thought I would share my enthusiasm for the company (and more importantly the beautiful line of jewelry), by showing you some of my favourite pieces as of late.

Each piece of jewelry comes in delightfully cute packaging, complete with a little boost of confidence.

Colour, colour and more colour.
A tiny personal touch.

The perfect bold accessory to your LBD.
Fingers should get dolled up too.
This delicate friendship bracelet comes in pink as well and its proceeds go to charity!
