I'm tempted to head to a fabric store and sew up one of these flowy, layered creations myself. Such a pretty statement piece should be equally exquisite and personalized. Anyone have any tips for making tulle skirts? Please share!

Lunchtime Sequins and Graffiti
Top: Gap; Blazer: Gap old, similar here); Necklace: Joe Fresh; Jeans: Gap; Loafers: Zara
We snapped these shots while out for lunch at one of my favourite cafes - Le Gourmand. Their butternut squash soup is to die for!
This is one of those outfits that would easily transition from day-time to night-time, simply by removing the blazer and adding a pair of heels. I love how the sequined top reflects surrounding colors. Happy Wednesday!

Re-discover

It's human nature to develop habits. Mine as of late is an extremely simple hair routine, which either includes straight strands, a sock bun, or a simple pony tail. My high school self would be thoroughly disappointed in me - I garnered the nickname, "Wedding" in 11th grade, due to my elaborate hair experiments that were apparently suitable for a bridesmaid. While I certainly don't feel the need to embrace that nickname again, I do miss challenging myself with more intricate styles. Sometimes a little re-evaluating is key. For instance, I recently discovered that I really like my hair parted in the middle as opposed to on the side. It still feels simple and easily done, but polished and pulled together - a baby step in the right direction. Here are some other styles I'd like to try:
A loose, messy half-up do
A wavy pony, complete with the cutest bow elastic.
A sleek alternative to a low bun.
A braided headband.
What's your go-to hairstyle?

Mimosa Brunch
I was introduced to bottomless mimosas in San Francisco, where a number of restaurants (Sugar Cafe!) encourage the delcious brunch special, however I recently and sadly discovered that such a thing does not exist in Toronto! Determined, I decided to hold my own "Bottomless Mimosa Brunch", and used it as the perfect opportunity to surprise four of my favourite people by asking them to be in my bridal party. The surpirse ask came in the form of stir-sticks for the mimosas (made from cardstock, ribbon, patterned tape, and shish kabob sticks). I placed two raspberries on each stick and kept them hidden in the freezer until the first champagne bottle was popped. The frozen raspberries acted as tiny ice cubes, while also providing extra flavour. I filled my apartment with my favourite flower (daisies), and added homemade touches like miniature pompom toppers for the cupcakes, to enhance the gathering. Because I still wanted to include a personal note for each bridesmaid, I put together macaroon favours for each of them to take home. All in all, the event required a few craft supplies (and Pinterest inspiration), an excess of Proseco, and a family-size jug of orange juice. And they all said "Yes"!
