Mixed Prints

Top: H&M; Shorts: Gap (similar); Heels: Zara (similar); Blazer: Urban Outfitters; Sunglasses: Tiffany & Co. Earrings: Banana Republic; Bracelets: Forever 21 and H&M

I love dressing up shorts with heels - It's such a fun alternative to a dress or a skirt. Even better when they're printed and matched with contrasting patterned tops (just as long as there's a hint of a colour scheme in the mix). Happy Monday!

Out & About

Dress: Gap (old) (love this one); Necklace: H&M; Shoes: DSW; Sunglasses: Ray-Ban; Watch: Michael Kors; Bag: Longchamp

This is the kind of outfit I gravitate to when I don't really know where/what I'll be doing in the day. While planning is nice, sometimes it's fun to spontaneously roam around the city. For days likes these, I like to choose a simple dress with a statement necklace that instantly ups the casualness, comfortable walking shoes that still have a bit of a heel, and an oversized bag to hold extra layering pieces in case the day extends past sunset.

Easy Breezy Mint

Top: Zara; Skirt: American Apparel; Shoes: Zara; Bracelet: Banana Republic; Hat: Gap

Another long, light-weight, flowing skirt. It seems to be all I want to wear lately. This one is from American Apparel and comes in a number of amazing colors. You just need to make sure you have a good slip to accommodate for the sheer fabric. I chose a simple, nude colored one to go with my casual top, but a vintage one with a bit of lace lining the bottom would be very pretty and nice added detail for a more feminine look.

Sheer Sunset

Top: H&M; Skirt: Urban Outfitters (similar); Necklace: H&M; Sandals: Gap

I never tire of long flowing skirts, whether they're solid colored or printed, opaque or sheer, they always feel pretty and whimsical.

Liking Lately

- Views of San Francisco from hilltops -
- Putting together colourful outfits -

- simple, yet decadent desserts -
- sharing happy news with friends and family -
- citrus sandals and sitting by the ocean -

What a week it has been! Sharing the news of our engagement to incredibly supportive friends and family, and drinking endless glasses of champagne has sparked a chord of overwhelming happiness. Tomorrow is supposed to be 24 degrees (75 farenheit) and sunny, so I think a relaxing picnic at the park with my fiancé is in order. Happy Weekend!

Patio Lunch

Top: Forever 21, Cardigan: Gap (similar); Pants: H&M; Heels: Zara; Hat: Gap (similar); Sunglasses: Ray-Ban; Necklace: Banana Republic; Watch: Michael Kors

On Saturday I met with KT of KTR Style and Sabrina of The Petite Style for lunch at the Cheesecake Factory downtown. We sat on the high patio overlooking Union Square and embraced the warm sunshine. It was a gorgeous day and I was happy to be wearing a flowy top, light cardigan and sunglasses.

Lightly Polished

Top: Zara (also worn here); Skirt: Forever 21; Necklace and Earrings: Banana Republic; Bracelet: Forever 21; Heels: ZaraSunglasses: Tiffany & Co.

Thankfully we snapped a few outfit shots in the latter half of last week, because the last few days have been pretty overwhelming while spreading our engagement news, and I have barely had time to leave the apartment, let alone rack my brain and closet for outfit inspiration. I do however love adding subtle edginess to feminine and delicate pieces, so for this floral print skirt and thin strapped heels I chose a leather jacket, neon top, and a single studded bracelet (and of course a flat sidewalk).

The Best Surprise

What I thought was just an ordinary day taking outfit photos...

...Turned out to be the best day of my life.

We're engaged!

As you can see, the untied shoelaces tactic backfired a bit when I bent down to tie them myself. Oops.

Blending In

Chambray Shirt: American Eagle; Jacket: Urban Outfitters (similar); Floral Pants: Plenty; Shoes: DSW

This outfit was one I wore on our road trip last week. I bought the floral pants from a cute local shop in Vancouver called Plenty and decided to pair them with a casual green cargo jacket and neutral shoes for a more earthy feel - likely inspired by the never-ending mountains and greenery of the west coast.
